STRONGER AND STRONGER
Learning to worship with our voice while going through tumultuous times is one of the most challenging aspects of a believer's life. It is easy to feel abandoned and silenced. Still, these moments of worshipping from a place of faith, when traced, always reveal God's hand of blessing has never left or forsaken those that put their trust in God. So when our hearts are overwhelmed, we sing.
You are not alone in feeling this. You awake thinking; today wants to be a hard day, possibly even part of you is dreading it. But, today will not win. I woke up early to remind myself (and you) of God's truths and how we can continue taking steps in the right direction - because, to heal your wound, you need to stop touching it.
My friends, today is the day that wounds heal. No more picking at the scabs of our shoulda-coulda-woulda's. Today, wounds heal.
Why is it that we hold on to things that God doesn't want in your life by continually picturing it in your life and imagining how it would be and how you think it should be? We say things like: "If my business would only take off again." "If they only would have made a different decision." "If only we could have recorded that song." "If they would have only listened," - among a few of an infinite list of questions.
You can train yourself and say, "God wants this for me." However, what you are doing is making it more challenging - to let go. Job 17:9 the righteous shall move onward and forward; those with pure hearts shall become stronger and stronger.
Say it with me: "...the righteous shall move onward and forward; those with pure hearts shall become stronger and stronger."
You will never do God's will when you are living in the past. Looking back will distract you from what is in front of you. When the spirit says, move - move. There may be unanswered questions, wishes not yet realized, fear of opinions or critiques of man; but onward and forward is where you become stronger and stronger.
Pick up your foot. Come on; I'll hold your hand - let's do it together. Together, we will walk out of this mess and into His goodness. We've got this. We've got perseverance and as it says in James 1:4:
Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. Stronger and stronger. We do not lack anything.
Worshipping from this place, joins our shouts with nature, revealing his power and control - nothing is above his command. His promise of rescue and provision, even in turmoil, demand worship. We can search for other avenues to rescue us, even put our trust in the strongest of armies - but it is worship that opens the door to his goodness. His gaze is upon us, and nothing succeeds without the worship of God as the central figure.
Stronger and stronger.
We do not lack anything.
We've got this!
